Privacy policy

ConGuests (“we”, “us”) runs conguests.gg, a free planner for fan conventions. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We keep it short because we collect very little.
What we collect
- Without an account: the guests you track, the cons you mark, your plan choices and settings are stored only in your browser (local storage) on your device. They aren’t sent to us.
- With an account: your email address, a display name, and the same planning data, stored on our server so it’s available on all your devices. If you sign in with Google, Apple, Discord, Twitch or another provider, we receive your email address and basic profile name from them. We never see your password for those services.
- Contact form: your email address and your message, so we can reply.
- Server logs: like any website, our server briefly records technical details of requests (IP address, browser type, page requested) for security and troubleshooting.
How we use it
- To run the service: show your guests, plans and schedule changes, and keep you signed in.
- To send account emails (verification, password reset) and, if you choose to receive them, schedule-change alerts.
- To answer your messages and fix problems.
We don’t sell your data, and we don’t share it with advertisers.
Cookies and similar technology
We use your browser’s local storage to remember your plans and keep you signed in. We don’t use advertising cookies.
Analytics: we count page views and a few actions (like opening the quick setup or tracking a guest) with PostHog, set up to be anonymous: no cookies, no profile of you, and IP addresses aren’t stored. It tells us which pages and features people use, not who you are.
Who processes data for us
- DigitalOcean hosts our server.
- Sign-in providers you choose (for example Google or Discord) handle that sign-in.
- An email delivery service sends account and alert emails.
- PostHog (US) receives anonymous usage events.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your account data while your account exists. To delete your account and its data, or to get a copy of it, contact usand we’ll do it within 30 days. Data stored only in your browser can be cleared at any time from your browser settings.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example the EU, the UK or California), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or port your data, and to object to certain uses. Contact us to use any of these rights.
Children
ConGuests isn’t intended for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their data.
Security
Connections to the site are encrypted (HTTPS), passwords are stored hashed, and access to the server is restricted. No service is perfectly secure, so please use a unique password.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date above, and for significant changes we’ll let account holders know.
